When Your Body Ages Faster Than Your Age, Muscle Loss Starts Early

Key Insight

This study suggests faster biological aging may be linked to earlier muscle loss.

Researchers measured people's biological age using blood markers, then compared it to their real age. Those whose bodies aged faster had noticeably weaker muscles and much higher odds of muscle loss. The effect showed up strongly in women and in people under 60, meaning muscle decline can begin well before old age.
