What is Longevity Houston?

Longevity Houston is a free, science-based community for people in Houston who want to stay healthy for longer. It is the Houston chapter of Longevity Cities and a newer one: a longevity community in Houston that starts small, with people who want to move more, meet others who care about healthy aging and learn from each other. No experience needed.

The first event was the Arboretum City Hike on Tuesday, 4 August 2026 at 6 PM, a city hike through the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center to move your body, clear your mind and meet like-minded people. Further meetups will be announced on this page and in the WhatsApp group, and ideas from the community are welcome.

Joining is free: create an account, join the Houston WhatsApp group linked on this page and check the calendar for new dates. Longevity Houston is a community, not a longevity clinic. If you are searching for healthy aging and longevity resources in Houston, this is the place to learn, compare notes with other members and find people to walk, talk and ask questions with.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Houston?+
Longevity Houston is the Houston chapter of Longevity Cities, a free and non-commercial community for healthy aging and longevity. It is still young: the first event was the Arboretum City Hike in August 2026. The goal is a friendly group in Houston that moves together, shares what works and keeps an evidence filter on it. Everyone is welcome, beginners included.
Is there a longevity clinic in Houston, and what does it cost?+
Yes, Houston has private longevity practices alongside its large medical sector, but Longevity Houston is not one of them: we are a free community and do not diagnose or treat. US clinic programs typically run from a few thousand to over 20,000 dollars a year, self-pay. A good test of any offer is whether you get a full itemized price up front.
Where can I test my biological age in Houston?+
In Houston you can order an epigenetic age test by mail (roughly 200 to 500 dollars), sign up for a biomarker blood-testing membership (roughly 350 to 500 dollars a year) or check fitness markers like VO2max and grip strength for free with our online tools. Epigenetic clocks vary between labs, so read one result as a snapshot. Longevity Houston itself does not run tests.
What does healthy aging and longevity look like in Houston?+
Healthy aging in Houston comes down to the same basics as anywhere: regular movement, good sleep, food that works for you, low stress and people around you. In a hot, humid city, the practical trick is timing, which is why Longevity Houston started with an evening hike at 6 PM. Watch the calendar for further formats as the chapter grows.
What longevity events are there in Houston?+
The first Longevity Houston event was the Arboretum City Hike on 4 August 2026, a Tuesday evening walk through the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center meeting at the entrance. More meetups are being planned. New dates are published in the calendar on this page and announced in the Houston WhatsApp group, so join the group to hear first.
Do I have to be an experienced hiker to join the Houston hike?+
No, the Arboretum City Hike is a city hike on the trails of the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, a nice way to move your body and clear your mind, not a mountain tour. The Arboretum sits in the Memorial Park area, so it is easy to reach from inside the city. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and come on your own if you like.
How can I meet people if I am new to Houston?+
Longevity Houston is a simple way to meet people in a spread-out city: a shared walk is easier than small talk because you have something to do together. Newcomers are welcome at every meetup, and you need no health background. Join the Houston WhatsApp group linked on this page to see where the next one is and ask who else is coming.
Can I suggest an event or help grow Longevity Houston?+
Yes, Longevity Houston is a young chapter and member ideas shape what happens next, whether that is a morning walk, a talk on sleep or a healthy dinner. Share your suggestion in the Houston WhatsApp group linked on this page. Offers to co-host, find a venue or spread the word are just as welcome as attending.
Is Longevity Houston free, and how do I join?+
Yes, joining is free: create an account, join the Houston WhatsApp group linked on this page and check the calendar for the next date. There is no membership fee. Costs only come up for what you choose to buy yourself, such as food or drinks after a walk, and each event listing states them upfront.
