What is Longevity Valencia?

Longevity Valencia is a free community for people who want to stay healthy for longer, and it is the Valencia chapter of the Longevity Cities network. The city makes the subject easy to live out in practice. A diverted river left Valencia with the Jardí del Túria, nine kilometres of park running straight through town, the sand at Malvarrosa is a bike ride from most flats, and the rice fields of the Albufera south of the city still supply the market halls. Every December the marathon takes over those same streets, which is why training talk fills the group all autumn.

The calendar is built from free meetups, expert talks and hands on workshops, plus community challenges where a group commits to one habit for a few weeks. Outdoor formats fit here in a way they do not everywhere, since an early run or walk in the old riverbed costs nothing and works most of the year. Recurring subjects: biological age, sleep, strength training, what the Mediterranean diet actually shows in trials rather than in brochures, VO2max (roughly, how much oxygen your body can use while you are working hard) and how to read an extended blood panel. Biohacking gets an airing at most events, along with the question of what sits behind the claim.

If you searched for a longevity clinic or a unidad de longevidad in Valencia, that is a different sort of place from this one. Private hospitals and anti ageing practices in the city sell longevity units, preventive check ups, hormone work and body composition testing, and several of them are perfectly serious. Longevity Valencia has no consulting room, no equipment and no price list, membership is free, and nobody here diagnoses or treats anything. Members do compare bills and results in the group, which is the part no clinic website prints. Our community Spots map pins labs, gyms and studios around the city, and we make no medical assessment of them.

The room mixes Valencians with the large international crowd that settled here for the weather and the cost of living, so clinicians and researchers end up next to remote workers, founders and people who arrived from Madrid or Berlin last spring. Events run in Spanish and English, and switching mid sentence is normal in this city. To take part, create a free account, join the Valencia WhatsApp group or come to the next event. Nothing needs approving, and you can decide on the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Valencia?+
Longevity Valencia is the free Valencia chapter of the Longevity Cities network, for anyone curious about what the research says about staying well into later decades. We gather for talks, workshops and long conversations, usually somewhere central and usually over something to drink. The mix includes doctors, sports scientists, remote workers and people whose entire health plan so far has been walking a lot. No fee, no application, nothing on sale. New dates appear in the events feed and in the Valencia WhatsApp group.
Is Longevity Valencia a longevity club or a gym I have to pay for?+
Longevity Valencia costs nothing and owns nothing, so club here means a group of people rather than a facility with a turnstile. Valencia is well supplied with gyms, padel clubs, pilates studios and beach front training groups, and we compete with none of them. Many members train somewhere and come to us for the reading and the arguing. There is no contract to sign and no minimum attendance, and nobody keeps a record of how often you showed up.
Is there a longevity centre or longevity clinic in Valencia, and are you one?+
Valencia has several longevity units and anti ageing practices, usually attached to private hospitals or specialist clinics, and Longevity Valencia is none of them. They sell packages built around blood panels, body composition, hormone measurement and follow up appointments. We have no premises, take no bookings and hold no financial link to any provider in the city. What the community offers is the layer around those places: who went, what it cost them, and whether the report led to a change worth the money.
Where can I find a longevity doctor or a private check up in Valencia?+
We do not refer patients, since Longevity Valencia has no medical staff and no clinical function. In practice people here use three routes: their public health centre in the Comunitat Valenciana system, private practices offering preventive or functional medicine, and direct to consumer labs selling panels without a referral. Costs differ enormously for tests that look similar on paper. Members swap experiences at meetups, and the Spots map marks practices, labs and studios that members have actually used, with no medical assessment from us.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen in Valencia?+
Expect three or four kinds of evening: a meetup with no agenda beyond good questions, an expert talk from a clinician or researcher, a workshop where you measure or try something, and community challenges that run for a few weeks. Themes cycle through sleep, training, food, testing and the biohacking gadget of the moment. Announcements land on this page, in the events feed and in the Valencia WhatsApp group. Everything is free unless a listing says otherwise, which is rare.
Does Longevity Valencia organise community runs, beach sessions or outdoor meetups?+
Yes, outdoor formats belong to this chapter, because Valencia hands them to you. The Turia park runs nine kilometres through the city with no traffic crossing it, and the beaches at Malvarrosa and Patacona are reachable by bike from most neighbourhoods. Alongside those we keep the usual mix of talks, workshops and challenges. Anyone can propose a format in the group, whether that is a slow morning run, a swim or a walk out towards the Albufera. Members lead most of them.
Is Longevity Valencia free, or do costs appear later?+
It is free, and it stays free. Membership carries no fee, almost every event is free to attend, and there is no upgrade waiting behind a login. Where an event genuinely costs something, usually because a venue or a lab charges us, the amount is written in the listing before you register. Nobody sells supplements, devices or programmes from the front of the room. A free account also gives you the bilingual guides and the biological age tool that lives on this site.
How do I join Longevity Valencia?+
Sign up for a free account, ask to be added to the Valencia WhatsApp group, or simply appear at the next event. Any of the three counts as joining, and none of them is reviewed by anybody. The WhatsApp group is where late changes and spontaneous plans get posted, so it is the most useful if you want to hear things early. Instagram and LinkedIn give a sense of what past meetups looked like if you would rather have a preview first.
Where can I test my biological age in Valencia (DEXA, VO2max, bloodwork)?+
Testing in Valencia is easy enough to arrange: private hospitals and sports medicine centres offer DEXA scans and VO2max treadmill tests, and several labs sell extended blood panels straight to the public. None of that runs through us and we take nothing from anyone who provides it. Start cheaper if you like, with the free biological age tool here, which works from a questionnaire rather than a blood draw. Then ask in the group, where people are unusually blunt about what a test was worth.
Are Longevity Valencia events in Spanish or English?+
Both languages are used, often in the same evening, and speakers usually take questions in whichever one you are comfortable with. Spanish calls the subject longevidad, and you will hear that word about as often as the English one. Valencian is the other language of the city and turns up in side conversations, though sessions are not held in it. This page exists in English and German, and the guides and tools on the site are bilingual, so you can read the material in the language you think in.
Which parts of Valencia do you meet in, and does the chapter cover the wider region?+
Meetups move between central neighbourhoods, so an evening may sit in Russafa, in Ciutat Vella, out towards El Cabanyal near the sea, or beside the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències when a venue there works out. The address is always in the listing. The chapter covers Valencia and the towns around it, with people coming in from Paterna, Torrent, Alboraia and occasionally Sagunt or Gandia. If you know a room that would host us for nothing, tell us.
Is Longevity Valencia useful if I have just moved here or work remotely?+
It works well for newcomers, which is partly why the chapter exists in this city. Valencia attracts a steady stream of people arriving for the climate, the food and the cost of living, and a health focused group is an easy way to meet locals rather than only other new arrivals. You do not need Spanish to start and you do not need to know anybody. Turning up alone to a first meetup is the standard way people begin here.
